Students in Señora Giacalone’s 6th grade Spanish class learned about holidays in Spanish-speaking countries. They left their shoes outside the classroom and the Reyes Magos left presents in them. #lionspride #mendhamborosd #mountainview

Dr. Barry Haines visited MVMS's 6th & 8th graders to talk about BlinkNow and his work at the Koplia Valley School in Birendranagar, Nepal. Students learned that while aspirations are the same, opportunities on the other side of the globe are limited. #lionspride #mendhamborosd

Mountain View Middle School's Student Council hosted their annual Winter spirit event, complete with a holiday chair parade and the annual 8th grade vs. staff volleyball games. Seasons greetings! #lionspride #mendhamborosd

The holiday spirit was present in Sra. Nugent's 5th and 7th grade Spanish classrooms, where students performed typical Hispanic día festivo villancicos. ¡Feliz Navidad! #mendhamborosd #lionspride

Mr. Nugent's 8th gr Historians presented their Industrial Revolution projects. Students created original models of significant inventions, such as the dishwasher, microscope, and Victorian home. Even more impressive - every model included at least 1 moveable part! #lionspride

Sixth graders celebrated their completion of the "Law Enforcement Against Drugs & Violence (L.E.A.D.)" course with certificates and ice cream. Detective Gobbi and Officer Kunz were also on hand to recognize the students. #lionspride #mendhamborosd

MVMS's 6th gr artists have printmaking projects on display at the Boro Library during December. To make the prints, students voted on a theme, brainstormed a design, and carved a foam printing plate. Ink was applied before the designs were stamped. Each is unique!

After listening to the book Stepping Stones and admiring the art of Syrian artist Nizar Ali Badr, Mrs. Keaney’s 6th gr. students created scenes from the class read-aloud novel Refugee using pebbles and small stones in the artistic style of Badr. #mendhamborosd #lionspride
