Dear Parents and Guardians:

As we begin Memorial Day weekend, I wanted to share some important updates. The last day of the 2019-2020 school year will be Thursday, June 11, 2020. The calendar has been updated to reflect three unused snow days that remained on our calendar.

In the next couple of weeks you will receive information from the school principals on how the “no contact pick up-drop off” at each of our schools will occur. Our custodial staff will be packing student belongings from their lockers at Mountain View and desks/cubbies at Hilltop. Our School Nurses have already identified and packed medications that need to be returned. Library books, district Chromebooks and hot spots will need to be dropped off at the same time the pick-up of student belongings occurs. In order to limit the disruption to remote learning this will occur after the last day of school. A detailed schedule will be provided within the next week.

The Administration and Faculty will continue to plan for many end of year events. Guidance from the NJDOE and Governor’s office on what will be permitted and when it will be permitted is continuously evolving making planning a daunting task. However, we remain steadfast in our commitment to ensure the well-being of our students and families while placing them at the forefront of our decision-making. Information regarding our 8th grade promotion as well as many other Mendham Borough School District traditions will be forthcoming.

We began the month of May by showing our appreciation for our teachers and staff. I would like to take this opportunity to thank YOU for your support in making our remote teaching and learning successful. COVID-19 has impacted each of us in very personal ways but together we have been able to provide our students with continuity of instruction as we look forward to many sun-filled days ahead.
