Students and parents enjoy Family Heritage Day

Hilltop's third graders recently became experts on their own families! During Social Studies, they learned about settling in the United States, diversity in our country, how individuals can make communities better, and cultures around the world. To support and enhance student learning, students completed a family history project at home entitled Family Treasures. Students created family trees, gathered photographs and artifacts, found traditional recipes, and traced their families back for generations. Families were invited into the classroom to celebrate and share their Family Treasures projects. Students had a great time teaching others about their families and learning about their classmates' heritages!
