ENROLLMENT PROCESS for STUDENTS ENTERING PRESCHOOL 

If you are interested in attending the Mendham Borough School District's Pre-School program held at Hilltop School, please refer to the following contact information:

Mrs. MaryAnne Collins, Administrative Assistant for Special Services (collins@mendhamboroschools.org; 973-543-4175, ext. 138).  Mrs. Collins is the primary point of contact for any potential preschool families and will work with families throughout the entire process, including mandatory paperwork.

Registration for the 2024-2025 school year is now closed. Registration applications for the 2025-2026 school year will be accepted from September 2024 through December 2024. All applications will be placed in a lottery that will be held at our January 2025 Board of Education meeting. Students entering the preschool program must be 3 years old upon entry and fully toilet trained. Please note the Hilltop Cubs Preschool program runs daily from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. consistent with the Hilltop Elementary School Calendar. The tuition rate is $10,000 which can be paid annually or monthly.

Enrollment Process for Students Selected Through the Lottery

PART 1 Application, Birth Certificate, Deposit

  • Click here to complete online pre-registration in Genesis.

  • You must also enclose a copy of your child's birth certificate with the completed application.

  • Upon enrollment, a $100 deposit will be requested. The deposit of $100.00 does not apply to Mendham Borough students requiring special services.

PART 2 Required Documentation

  • Your child's birth certificate.


  • The following is the documentation confirming residency must be uploaded when registering:

    • Three (3) of the following:

      • Mortgage Statement

      • Certificate of Occupancy

      • Homeowner's Insurance

      • Tax Bill

      • Lease

      • Deed

      • Gas or Electric bill


    All documents must be originals. Our school's main office will make a copy of these documents for your child's permanent student file and promptly return your originals to you.

We thank you for your interest in The Mendham Borough School District's Preschool Program at Hilltop School and look forward to working with you.  Families will be notified of student placement in early spring.  If there are additional openings, after that date, it will be on a first come first serve basis.

Please note: Our administration reviews all required & annual forms for students yearly; and may need registrants to complete additional paperwork.
