Hispanic Heritage Month

In celebrating HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH (September 15 - October 15), Hilltop students made artworks recognizing the creative infusion of color, shape, and pattern shown in Hispanic art and culture in Art class with Mrs. Na.

Kindergarteners made paper serape (Mexican blanket); first graders made baskets of marigolds, traditional choice of decoration used for the Days of the Dead; second graders painted folk art birds from El Salvador; third graders made mola, inspired by the textile art of Panama; and fourth graders painted Mexican amate bark paintings.

Stay tuned for more artworks to come that are inspired by contemporary Hispanic artists!
