Officer Taquinto brings 29 years of experience to the role. He retired from the Mendham Township Police Department in January 2021 as a sergeant. During that time, he was involved in the security programs at the elementary and middle school, and he also previously served as a patrolman and detective. Before joining our District, Officer Taquinto served as the School Resource Officer in the West Morris Regional School District.
Dan earned an associate’s degree in criminal justice from the County College of Morris and a bachelor's degree in sociology from Centenary University. Additional training includes emergency medical technician, drug recognition expert, active shooter instructor, and police academy instructor.
Officer Taquinto shared: "I am happy to continue being a part of the Mendham community and look forward to building on that by creating positive relationships and a safe environment in the Mendham Borough School District.”
Officer Taquinto has twin boys; one is currently attending the County College of Morris, and his other son attends Fairfield University. Officer Taquinto’s wife recently retired as a teacher from the Chester Public Schools. Officer Taquinto is an avid Devils and NY Mets fan. He enjoys the outdoors and vacationing with his family.
