STUDENT DROP-OFF 8:15-8:30
From 8:15-8:30, students can be dropped off using Hilltop’s driveway down to the back patio.
ARRIVING AFTER 8:30
Cars arriving after 8:30 will drop off their child on the front sidewalk along the driveway.
The front circle is not used for drop-off.
THE INSTRUCTIONAL DAY STARTS AT 8:35
At Hilltop School, teachers begin instruction at 8:35 with the school-wide Pledge of Allegiance and morning announcements.
TARDY
Any student who is not in his/her classroom at 8:35 will be marked tardy. If your child is tardy, a parent or guardian is expected to check their child into school in the main office.
Contacting families and consequences for excessive tardies will be at the discretion of the principal.
WHEN IS DISMISSAL?
Students are dismissed at 3:15.
Hilltop School is now using a web application called PickUp Patrol to help us better manage our dismissal process, make it easier for you to make changes to your children’s dismissal plans and for student safety.
Previously you may have written a note or made a phone call to the office to let us know about a dismissal change. For example, Katie is getting picked up instead of taking the bus, or Tom is staying after for an activity. Now, you’ll use PickUp Patrol from your smartphone or computer and submit the changs there.
Once in the app, you will select a default dismissal plan (out front, back, bus, etc) for each day for each of your children. You will be able to make changes until 1:00 each day. Any changes after 1:00 will need to be made by calling the main office - please do not email this time-sensitive information.
You can pick your child up in the back car-line by pulling down our driveway and waiting in the line. You can also park and wait in the front or back of the school.
Any student who is not picked up in time will be brought to the office and we will contact the parents/guardians. Please do not arrange last-minute playdates or rides home without consulting the Hilltop office - student safety is paramount.
Students are not permitted to ride bikes, scooters or the like to and from Hilltop School.
