Kindergarten through second-grade students visit the Hilltop Library Media Center two times per four-day rotation. Classes are devoted to literature exploration, booktalks, read alouds, inquiry, and searching for and locating a wide range of diverse texts to meet individual student interests. Additionally, students are given opportunities to make, create, write and collaborate. First graders receive technology instruction on the second day of the four-day rotation. Kindergarten receives exposure to technology through the use of Google Chrome books in the classroom, as well as some instructional tech time with Mrs. LeMay.
Third and fourth-grade students visit the Hilltop Library Media Center one time per four day rotation. One week is devoted to literature exploration, booktalks, read alouds, inquiry, searching and locating texts to meet individual student interest, as well as making, creating and collaborating, and the alternating week is devoted to technology instruction.
