Greetings Mountain View Families: Thank you so much for your timely attention to all matters concerning the Health Office. Your calls and emails to report your children late or absent are very much appreciated and help me to get the day started in the best way! Please be mindful of school policies regarding attending school and illness. Frequent handwashing is one of the best ways to help stop the spread of germs and something I encourage daily in my office. Proper nutrition, hydration and rest go a long way to keep us all healthy! : ) As a reminder, please reach out to me with any health concerns that may be new or changed for the school year. Have a great day!!--Mrs. A

    Important Notes:

    PUBLIC AWARENESS CAMPAIGN ON VAPING

Electronic smoking devices were introduced into the U.S. market in 2007 and use of these products has skyrocketed to the point that in 2018, more than one in five high school students and about 1 in 20 middle school students reported using e-cigarettes. This is double the usage from 2017. Equally alarming is that flavored vaping oils are marketed with names like cotton candy, strawberry cheesecake and razzleberry that are attractive to children despite the fact that such sales are illegal in this state. Because of these alarming trends, the New Jersey Department of Health has created a public awareness campaign with the following resources:

VapeFactsNJ.com: A page on the NJ DOH site that provides Parents, Teachers, Coaches, and Healthcare Providers with the most up-to-date information about the dangers of e-cigarettes/vaping.

    Healthy Reminders for Warmer Weather

Skin Cancer Prevention: Did you know the chances for getting skin cancer increases as we get older? Are we doing all we can to promote CHILDREN’S sun-safety awareness?

    Tick-Borne Illness Prevention:
