The 7th grade Tuesday/Thursday EEE has been working on the “Roads to Success” program.  The students have developed academic as well as personal goals, steps to achieving these goals, and strategies used to persevere through obstacles that might interfere with the goal achievement.  The last portion of this program is “Career Exploration.” In this part of the program, students research possible career interests and interview a parent/guardian to learn more about what they do for a living.  Furthermore, parents volunteer to be guest speakers, which is great exposure for our students. Through the guest speaker presentations, students not only learn about a variety of different career options, but they also learn what educational or training requirements there are, why guests chose his or her careers, and what the day-to-day experience is like in each respective field.  This year, we are excited to have guest speakers in a range of different fields, such as Finance, Film, Neuropsychology and the Food Industry. The students really enjoy meeting and interacting with professionals from the community!
