Greetings. Thank you for pausing to read about Mendham's schools.

Communication between our school district and our community is very important. We share information electronically and continually on the district’s, schools’, and teachers’ webpages and in our Friday Bulletin. If you are not already subscribed to our electronic messages and newsletters, please sign up for our e-alerts. You will find the registration link among the Quick Links on the home page.

The message that follows was the opening statement for our last State Report Card. It will give you an overview of our schools in which we are all proud to be engaged as learners and guides of learning. We are proud of our schools and proud to serve in them. Your comments and suggestions will be welcome feedback:

A primary goal of this highly supportive community and its talented teachers is for every child to experience excellence every day. We agree that it takes a village to raise a child, and Mendham Borough is a village that values its children highly. Parent participation, led by teams such as the Home-School Association and Parent Councils, provides the superb levels of continual support and feedback that propel achievement. An expert teaching staff is the essential cornerstone of every successful school, and this school district can boast just such a staff.

Differentiation of instruction, continually evolving, supports our students as they learn in surroundings that enable them to stretch their understandings in inspiring, learning environments. Caring interactions tailored to students' needs set the stage for positive experiences, which become the foundation of a lifetime of devotion to learning. Caring and engaged learning are evident throughout the schools.
  • Hilltop Elementary School serves children in grades K through 4 and provides a warm environment that maximizes learning and development. Children learn to love learning.

  • At Mountain View Middle School, students proudly learn in a New Jersey School to Watch, one of the first schools to enjoy this prestigious State-awarded designation. Unceasing focus on ongoing improvement and a firm commitment to progressive educational ideas permit Mountain View to blend effective and engaging changes with its rich traditions.

  • Our exceptional, integrated pre-kindergarten program watches over our youngest students as they plunge into their study of writing, reading, numbers, and teamwork. The waiting list for this program evinces the acknowledged value it brings.
Technology to support learning and communication is abundant and well utilized. Continual growth in this area is an annual goal. Carefully maintained facilities echo the pride seen throughout the borough and contribute, as all aspects of the schools do, to the intrinsic value of living and working in this close-knit community.
Since community culture is the basis of schools' culture, it makes sense that Mendham's schools reflect caring and commitment to excellence.
